Adding team members and setting up roles

Lucere 29 July 2026 2 min read

This guide covers adding people to your team and controlling what each role is allowed to do. Both live under Settings.

Invite a team member

Go to Settings, then Team, and select "Invite". Enter their name, email, and role. They will receive an email invitation to set up their account.

Every firm has three roles:

  • Admin, full access to everything, including team, billing, and settings.
  • Compliance officer, manages clients and can view the firm-wide audit trail by default.
  • Agent, manages their own clients and requests day to day.

If your firm has more than one branch, you can also assign each new member to a specific branch when inviting them.

Change an existing member's role

In Settings, then Team, select the member's current role from the dropdown next to their name and choose a new one. Promoting someone to admin, or changing an existing admin's role, always requires the person making the change to be an admin themselves. Your firm can never be left with zero active admins.

Control what each role can do

Go to Settings, then Permissions, to open the access matrix. From here you can decide whether Compliance officers and Agents can manage the team, manage branches, edit firm details, edit document rules, run billed verification checks, or view billing.

Admin always has full access and is not shown as editable, so your firm can never be configured into having no one with full control. Every setting starts at a sensible default, so nothing changes for your team until you deliberately turn something on or off here.

Branches

If your firm operates from more than one office, Settings, then Branches lets you add, rename, or archive a branch, and see how many members and clients are assigned to it. Branch is an organisational grouping for reporting and filtering. It does not restrict which client data a member can see.
